4 Bakersfield councilmembers to take oath

Dec. 10—Four Bakersfield City Council members will take the oath of office at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at City Council Chambers at City Hall South, 1501 Truxtun Ave.

They are Eric Arias, Ward 1 (re-elected); Ken Weir, Ward 3 (re-elected); Bob Smith, Ward 4 (re-elected); and Manpreet Kaur, Ward 7. They will each serve four-year terms, expiring in November 2026.

Additionally, outgoing Ward 7 Councilman Chris Parlier will be honored for his eight years of service on the council.
