4,500 parking spots to close soon at Denver International Airport

DENVER (KDVR) — Planning to park at Denver International Airport in the coming months? Be prepared for fewer parking spots — some 4,500 fewer — as they will be closed for construction.

Starting April 7, a big portion of the Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot will close for “necessary improvements and repairs,” according to a Friday release from the airport. The closures will last through the spring and summer travel seasons.

The repairs are scheduled for sections 3-4 of the Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot, affecting shutter shelter locations. Meanwhile, shutter shelter locations for sections 1-2 will remain open, as will around 4,500 parking spots on the north side of the lot.

Improvements will include:

  • Reconstruction of the shelter islands and curbs

  • Installation of new snow storage pads

  • Drainage updates

  • Repaving

  • Restriping

  • Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act

Vehicles left in the work zones will be relocated within the lot. Anyone who needs to get their vehicle should call 303-342-4650 for information.
