New 350-unit Lakewood Ranch apartment complex planned with ‘nature at the forefront’

A Florida-based housing developer has announced plans for Alton Lakewood, a 350-unit multifamily development at 14750 State Road 64 E., Lakewood Ranch.

Alton Lakewood, a seven-building development, would include three- and four-story buildings, offering one-bedroom to three-bedroom residences from 726 to 1,285 square feet. When it opens, it will be the third-largest apartment complex in Lakewood Ranch.

Alton Lakewood is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2026. The market-price apartments will not include affordable or workforce housing.

“Kolter Multifamily is proud to announce the groundbreaking of Alton Lakewood, the latest multifamily development within our portfolio,” Jeff Kruse, managing director at Kolter Multifamily, said in a news release.

“Alton Lakewood addresses the continued demand for residential development seen in the Greater Tampa Bay area by providing new, attainable housing options with social spaces and proximity to nature at the forefront,” Kruse said.

The apartment complex will sit about 2.5 miles west of Lake Manatee.

Kolter Multifamily LLC is an affiliate of Delray Beach’s The Kolter Group.

New apartments coming to Lakewood Ranch

The start of construction at Alton Lakewood comes closely after the groundbreaking at Alton Osprey, which is south of downtown Sarasota.

Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool with covered cabanas, a summer kitchen with barbecue grills, an outdoor jogging trail and fountain lake, an outdoor fireside lounge, and a gated pet park and spa.

Indoors, residents will have access to an upscale business center and private conference room, coworking offices with a coffee bar and free WiFi, and a game lounge with billiards and a media wall.

Wellness offerings include a professional fitness center and yoga and spin (cycling) studio with on-demand fitness classes.

Other planned services include secured storage and bike storage spaces, gated and secured building access, electric vehicle charging stations and package acceptance services.
