35 seniors to receive Buckeye Career Center Foundation scholarships

NEW PHILADELPHIA ‒ A group of 35 seniors will receive Buckeye Career Center Foundation scholarships at the annual Buckeye Foundation Awards Ceremony on May 8 at the career center.

This year's winners represent 19 career center labs and 13 schools.

“We are one of a very few scholarships that can be used for tools of their trade or adult vocational education,” said Kimberly Hobart Fleming, Buckeye Foundation president and Recognition Awards Ceremony event chair. The scholarships are made possible by community contributions. Each of the 35 students will be awarded a scholarship of $2,500.

Mako’s Market of Uhrichsville and Ferris Chevrolet of New Philadelphia will be recognized for their continued support of Buckeye Career Center. Both companies routinely hire BCC students and participate in various events at BCC.

Reservations are required attend the ceremony and may be made by calling 330-447-5522. Tours of the building will be available from 6 to 6:35 p.m., with the program beginning at 6:45 p.m.
