31 Hillsborough County schools recognized as Schools of Excellence

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Hillsborough County Public Schools is celebrating the 29 schools, plus two combination schools, that were recognized as Schools of Excellence by the Florida State Board of Education for 2022-2023.
These schools ranked in the 80th percentile or higher for at least two out of the last three years.

Mabry Elementary School
Mitchell Elementary School
McKitrick Elementary School
Northwest Elementary School
Pride Elementary School
Roosevelt Elementary School
Schwarzkopf Elementary School
Westchase Elementary School
Benito Middle School
Coleman Middle School
Farnell Middle School

“Twenty-nine of our schools maintained their designation from the previous school year and two of our schools were added to the list,” Van Ayres, the superintendent of schools said. “I am proud of our students, our teachers, our administrators, and our support staff who have all contributed to the success and to receive this honor.”
The Schools of Excellence were established in 2017 by the Florida Legislature to recognize the state’s highest-performing schools.
