30 sailors, Marines injured in training exercise off Jacksonville coast

Thirty sailors and Marines were injured in an "incident" involving two hovercrafts during a training exercise on Wednesday, according to a press release from the Navy.

The hovercrafts were deployed from the USS Wasp and the USS New York off the coast of Jacksonville.

Five sailors were medically evacuated to Savannah Memorial University Medical Center. Four of those five sailors have been released from the hospital.

The other is still being treated at the hospital.

The rest of the injured had minor injuries and were treated aboard their respective ships.
