30 pound hook leaves 'Deadliest Catch' deckhand bloody

On Deadliest Catch, greenhorn Taylor Jensen took a 30 pound steel hook to head. Jensen, who is a deckhand on the Cornelia Marie, never saw it coming when a fellow deckhand smacked him with the hook. After being stuck on the top of the head, Jensen took about 10 seconds to gather himself and then returned to the task of sorting the crab. But he soon realized that blood was trickling down his face. Captain Casey McManus, who also happens to be a certified EMT, examined Jensen's head. The gash appeared to minor, though bloody, and Jensen showed no signs of concussion. After getting a clean bill of health, Jensen returned to work. Captain Josh Harris praised the greenhorn, saying, "That kid is phenomenal, a phenomenal worker. He's a good guy." Deadliest Catch airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Discovery.
