30-minute police chase; suspect driving gets away

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) — A police chase that started in East Cleveland lasted more than 30 minutes and ended in Cleveland with a crash.

The pursuit took place at about 2:45 a.m. on Thursday. According to East Cleveland police, officers were pursuing a vehicle suspected to be involved in an aggravated burglary.

Wanted man dead after local police-involved shooting

Two suspects ran from the vehicle and were taken into custody. A third suspect continued driving and eventually crashed into an East Cleveland cruiser near the intersection of East 130th Street and Parkhill Avenue.

The suspect vehicle continued driving after the accident and got away.

The officer-involved is OK but the police cruiser was damaged and would no longer start.
