I-30 construction to cause lane closures in Little Rock, North Little Rock starting April 29

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Construction on Interstate 30 will cause lane closures in Little Rock and North Little Rock starting Monday.

If weather permits, closures will begin the week of Monday, April 29.

Officials with the Arkansas Department of Transportation said that construction could cause single and double lane closures. Double lane closures will be limited to 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The expected closures are listed below:

Daytime closures (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

  • I-30 frontage road southbound between 6th and 10th streets in Little Rock (single-lane closures)

  • Riverfront Drive between Olive and Pine streets in North Little Rock (single-lane closures)

  • Cypress Street southbound between 5th and Broadway streets in North Little Rock (single-lane closure)

  • Broadway Street between Magnolia and Pine Streets in North Little Rock (single-lane closures)

  • Locust Street northbound between Broadway and 5th streets and between Curtis Sykes Drive and 17th Street in North Little Rock (single-lane closure)

Overnight closures (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.)

  • I-30 between Roosevelt Road in Little Rock and Interstate 40 in North Little Rock (single and double-lane closures and traffic shifts)

  • I-30/I-40 lanes and ramps at the north terminal in North Little Rock (single and double-lane closures)

  • I-630 off-ramp to I-30 northbound frontage road (Exit 140) in Little Rock, detours signed (full closure)

  • I-30 eastbound off-ramp (Exit 140) to frontage road northbound in Little Rock (single-lane closures)

  • I-30 frontage road northbound between the I-30 off-ramp (Exit 140) and 6th Street in Little Rock (single-lane closure)

  • I-30 frontage road southbound on-ramp to I-30 westbound (full closure) in Little Rock near Interstate, detours signed (full closure)

  • 9th Street bridge eastbound between frontage roads on Wednesday, May 1, in Little Rock; detour signed (full closure)

  • Cypress Street southbound between 5th and Broadway streets in North Little Rock (single-lane closure)

  • Broadway Street between Magnolia and Pine streets in North Little Rock (single-lane closures)

  • Locust Street northbound between Broadway and 5th streets and between Curtis Sykes Drive and 17th Street in North Little Rock (single-lane closure)

Officials said that traffic will be controlled by construction barrels and signage. Traffic crews also warned drivers to be cautious when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
