More than 30,000 Russian troops are tasked with advancing on Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secertary, Oleksandr Lytvynenko, said on May 13.

In an interview with Le Figaro, Lytvynenko stated that approximately 50,000 enemy troops were concentrated at the border before the beginning of the assault last week.

"Currently, well over 30,000 [Russian troops] are advancing," said Lytvynenko.

The official added that Ukrainian forces are prepared to repel the Russian attack and heavy fighting is ongoing in the area.
