3 wounded in shooting overnight in Englewood neighborhood

Gunshots rang out Friday night striking at least three people who were gathering at a vacant lot in the Englewood neighborhood.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., a group was gathering at a vacant lot in the 300 block of West 59th Place when someone opened fire striking three men, Chicago police said.

A 29-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the lower leg and got himself to Providence Hospital of Cook County where he was listed in good condition. Another man, 25, suffered a wound to the right arm and was taken to UChicago Medicine where he was listed in good condition. A third victim, 29, got himself to the same hospital after suffering a graze wound to the right shoulder and also was listed in good condition, police said.

No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
