3 workers rescued after NYC construction collapse

NEW YORK (AP) — Officials say a one-story commercial building collapsed in New York City, and three construction workers were rescued from the rubble.

Two of the workers were taken to a hospital after the Thursday morning collapse. The fire department says one was seriously injured.

In 2008, two construction crane collapses in the city killed a total of seven people within two months. In one collapse, a crane rigger was acquitted of manslaughter and all other charges. In the other, a manslaughter trial for the crane's owner began last month.
