3 Players to Watch against the Seattle Seahawks

It’s a Dallas Cowboys Game Day. Week three of the preseason will satisfy our football taste buds more than anything we’ve seen so far as we will watch a “dress rehearsal” for the regular season. The Cowboys will play in the one of the toughest stadiums as they travel to Seattle. Arguably, the Cowboys couldn’t have asked for a better opponent to have their tune up game against. Starters will likely play well into the second quarter or a whole half. Catch the action on NFL network at 11pm eastern time. Keep an eye on these three
players.

HB Ezekiel Elliott

The most obvious player to watch is Ezekiel Elliott. The fourth overall pick in this year’s draft will make his on-field debut for the Cowboys tonight. After dealing with a hamstring injury, Zeke has been held out to make sure he’s 100% healthy for the regular season. Zeke should see around 8-12 plays for his first action of the season. It’ll be great to see him in uniform with a star on his helmet. Elliott will also gain valuable reps against one of the best defenses in the NFL. Blitz pickups will be something to keep an eye out for. Elliott prides himself on being a great blocker, but he has never seen an NFL blitz yet. I expect Seattle to bring the heat when he is on the field.

Bold Predictions: Five bold predictions for Preseason Week 3

Injuries: Updates on DeMarcus Ware, Dez Bryant, Vontae Davis

Power Rankings: Dak Prescott still leads rookie QB rankings

Hard Knocks: Rams football is a business

Cowboys: Three Position battles to watch vs Seahawks

QB Dak Prescott

The Cowboys quarterback group has taken over every headline this offseason. It’ll be very interesting to see how much the Cowboys allow Romo to play. I expect a full quarter or so, however they may want Dak Prescott to have reps against one of the best defenses in the NFL. I’m also curious to see how much playing time Jameill Showers is allowed. I feel as if Showers had the same amount of playing time with the 1st team as Prescott he could have similar numbers. It’s no secret finding a valuable backup quarterback has been the Cowboys’ goal all offseason. Tonight’s game will be the best indicator of how well they did in fulfilling their biggest need.

WR Brice Butler

Brice Butler will have all eyes on him with Dez Bryant out with a concussion. After a great week two preseason game scoring a touchdown, Butler will look to step up without Dez. Something the Cowboys didn’t do last season was fill in the void Dez left. Brice Butler is the closest wide receiver to Dez Bryant from a physical standpoint the Cowboys have. Watching 19 run routes is almost a spitting image of seeing 88 on the field. This is a huge year for Butler as it’s a contract year for Terrance Williams. Butler can make the case for more playing time by having a great performance tonight.
