3 injured in explosion at Nashville special effects company

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Three people were brought to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following an explosion at a Nashville special effects company.

The incident was reported around noon on Wednesday, May 8 at Strictly FX — which specializes in fireworks and laser shows — along Airpark Center East.

The Nashville Fire Department said three people were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-critical injuries after the explosion.

The explosion created a gas leak in the building, so HAZMAT units responded to the scene, according to officials.
