This treehouse is the ultimate glamping – a.k.a. “glamorous camping” – retreat. The living area features all repurposed decor such as a coffee table made from dirt bike tires and a glass bottle chandelier. A hand-distressed barn door slides open to reveal the treehouse’s full bath.

Rustic Yet Modern

This 460-square-foot treehouse in Portola Valley, California, was built to match the owners’ rustic midcentury modern home. Curvy tree trunk support beams and wooden shingles of varying colors and size give the structure a funky aesthetic.

The living room features handcrafted oak window moldings, hardwood floors and a fun ship’s ladder that leads to the upstairs loft space. The exposed ceiling beams were toasted to give the wood a rich, natural look and boost its fire resistance.
