3 hospitalized in Genesee County crash involving tractor-trailer

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, were involved in a crash that sent three people to the hospital.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s office said the collision occurred at the intersection of Route 77 and McVean Road in Darien shortly after 7 p.m. According to officials, the tractor-trailer was headed north when it hit a Subaru that was turning left off McVean.

One of the occupants of the Subaru was thrown from the vehicle and hit by a southbound SUV on Route 77. All three occupants of the Subaru were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where two passengers are in critical, but stable, condition.

No one else was injured as all three vehicles came to a rest at the intersection.

According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s office, the Subaru driver failed to yield the right of way to the tractor-trailer. Investigators are still looking into the crash.
