3 food recalls for cinnamon, sausage products

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the United States Department of Agriculture are announcing three food recalls, two of which are related to potential lead exposure.

The three food recalls are as follows:

  • Colonna Brothers of North Bergen, N.J., is recalling its 1.5-ounce Marcum Ground Cinnamon & 2.25-ounce Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, because of a possible health risk from elevated lead levels, the FDA announced.

The cinnamon products come in a clear, plastic jar with the label “Marcum Cinnamon Ground 1.5 oz” or “Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon 2.25 oz.”

The following lot codes were affected:

  • 1.5oz Marcum Ground Cinnamon, Best By: 10/16/25 10D

  • 1.5oz Marcum Ground Cinnamon, Best By: 04/06/25 0400B1

  • 2.25oz Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, 09/29/25 09E8

  • 2.25oz Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, 04/17/25, 04E11

  • 2.25oz Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, 12/19/25, 12C2

  • 2.25oz Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, 04/12/25, 04ECB12

  • 2.25oz Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, 08/24/25, 08A

  • 2.25oz Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, 04/21/25, 04E5

  • 2.25oz Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, 09/22/2025, 09E20

If you have have bought one of the above products in one of the above lot codes, the FDA is instructing you to throw it away or return it to the store for a full refund.

If you are concerned that you may have been exposed to lead, you should contact your healthcare provider to report your symptoms, the FDA says.

  • Raja Foods of Skokie, Ill., is recalling its Swad Brand Cinnamon Powder, 3.5-ounce retail packs, for possible lead contamination, the the FDA announced.

The products are in clear, plastic 3.5-ounce bags, UPC 0-51179-34280-4, from either of the following two batches:

  • Batch KX21223, Best Before July 2026

  • Batch KX08123, Best Before March 2026

If you have bought this product, you can throw it away or return it to the store for a free refund.

  • Salm Partners, LLC, of Denmark, Wis., is recalling its Johnsonville Polish Kielbasa Turkey Sausage Products, for possible foreign matter contamination, the USDA announced.

The following Johnsonville sausage products may be contaminated with pieces of rubber:

  • 12-ounce vacuum-packed packages containing one piece of “Johnsonville POLISH KIELBASA TURKEY” sausage, with best-buy dates of 05/17/24 and 05/18/24 printed on the side.

The USDA urges people who may have bought the sausage products not to eat them, and to throw them away or return them to store.
