The crashes involved a vehicle fleeing police and striking another car, a hit-and-run collision with a woman walking her dog, a motorcycle colliding with another vehicle and a single-vehicle crash, according to police in Milwaukee and West Milwaukee.

The first incident was reported at 10:23 p.m. in the Garden Homes neighborhood, on Milwaukee’s north side. Police initially said a 30-year-old man was speeding on the 2700 block of West Roosevelt Drive when he crashed into another vehicle driven by a 47-year-old man with a 31-year-old passenger.

Police later issued a statement clarifying that officers had tried to pull over the vehicle for speeding on Roosevelt Drive, but the driver did not cooperate. The suspect vehicle fled down North Teutonia Avenue and West Congress Street before police ended the pursuit.

But the car continued on and collided with the second vehicle, which was traveling along North 27th Street, police said.
