3 arrested in connection to string of armed robberies in East Bay
(KRON) — Three suspects have been arrested in connection to a string of robberies across the East Bay, the Hayward Police Department announced Friday. The suspects were connected to at least 11 robberies over an eight-month period in Hayward, Livermore, Fremont, San Leandro and Castro Valley.
The suspects, who police said were arrested with the help of U.S. Marshals, were identified as:
Jaray Washington, 42, of Oakland — Arrested Feb. 13 in connection to all 11 robberies
Cameron Watkins, 24, of Oakland — Arrested March 11 in connection to two robberies
Deante Hunt, 26, of Concord — Arrested April 4 in connection to two robberies
At least one of the suspects brandished a firearm in each of the robberies, police said. In some instances, the suspects moved employees or customers to other parts of the business and forced employees to hand over cash from safes or registers at gunpoint.

Before fleeing the scene, the suspects also forced employees and customers to hand over personal property at gunpoint, police said.
Additional resources in the investigation were provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, police said.
“I am so proud of the hard work throughout this investigation,” said Hayward PD Chief Bryan Matthews. “The coordinated effort between our law enforcement partners shows the steadfast commitment to ensure the safety and well-being, not just in our respective communities, but for the entire Bay Area.”
