3 arrested in connection with the first Columbus homicide of 2024, police say

Three people have been arrested in connection with the death of a man that was the first homicide of 2024 in Columbus, according to police.

Terrell Thomas, 20, was arrested in Atlanta in connection with the death of 39-year-old William Brown. Cameron Davis, 18, and Jquan Williams, 19, also were arrested in Columbus in connection with Brown’s death, according to police.

The shooting occurred on the afternoon of Jan. 8 in the 2300 block of Fort Benning Road, according to previous Ledger-Enquirer reporting.

Brown was pronounced dead at 6:51 p.m. at a local hospital after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

No other details were immediately available, including what led police to the suspects.
