3.8 magnitude earthquake strikes near Borrego Springs

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Did you feel it? A 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck near the rural East County area Saturday, the United States Geological Survey reported.

The earthquake occurred around 9:08 a.m. roughly 8 miles northeast of Borrego Springs at a depth of 7.27 miles, according to data collected by the USGS.

The earthquake could be felt as far west as Santee, and as far south as Campo and San Ysidro, the USGS Shake Map shows.

There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries related to the quake, as of 10:20 a.m. Saturday.

This follows a recent earthquake on Easter Sunday that rattled North County, while another one rattled the area near Ocotillo Wells in East County that next day.
