2nd person dies after crash of stolen 18-wheeler into DPS building

BRENHAM, Texas (KXAN) — A second person died after a crash earlier this month when a stolen 18-wheeler wrecked into a Texas Department of Public Safety building.

The DPS Southeast Texas Region posted on its social media on Monday that Cheryl Turner, 63, of Brenham died as a result of the incident.

The incident happened Friday, April 12 when 42-year-old Clenard Parker crashed a stolen 18-wheeler into a DPS office in Brenham.

One person, later identified as Bobby Huff, 78, died at the scene that day. DPS said a total of 14 people were involved in the incident. Six people were taken to the hospital and eight others were treated and released at the scene.

Parker was arrested at the scene and taken to the Washington County Jail where he faces several charges.
