29 years since the Oklahoma City building

OKLAHOMA CITY, N.Y. (WIVB) — People in Oklahoma City marked a solemn anniversary Friday morning.

They held a ceremony to mark 29 years since the deadly explosion at the Murrah Federal Building.

The explosives used in the attack were in a truck parked next to the building. In all, 168 people were killed and many more were hurt, including children in the building’s nursery.

Timothy McVeigh, of Pendleton, and Terry Nichols were arrested and convicted for the attack. At the time, it was the most deadly attack on U.S. soil.

McVeigh was executed in 2001.
