28 drivers cited for being unlicensed in Millbrae DUI checkpoint

(KRON) – The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DUI checkpoint spanning multiple blocks of El Camino Real in Millbrae over the weekend.

The checkpoint occurred Friday night from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. Saturday.

17 drivers cited in Berkeley DUI checkpoint 

Out of the 1,274 screened vehicles, nine field sobriety tests were administered. No drivers were arrested for driving under the influence. However, 28 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle while unlicensed. Five drivers were cited for not possessing their DMV-issued California driver’s license.

No cars were towed.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office reminds drivers that first-time DUI offenders face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
