SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A day of family shopping turned into a day of reading appreciation in Lackawanna County.

Children, parents, and grandparents gathered this afternoon in Scranton for what’s called “Storytime at the Viewmont Mall.”

28/22 News Mark Hiller had the pleasure of being one of the guest readers and he read the Dr. Seuss book called “I can read with my eyes shut!”.

Middle school girls gather for Girls in Science event

“Keystone State Literacy Association Northeast PA” sponsors several of these reading events a year.

They are planning another for this summer.
