26-year-old man killed in Coventry Township shooting Thursday night identified

A 26-year-old man was killed in a shooting in Coventry Township on Thursday night, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.

Around 9 p.m., Summit County Sheriff's deputies and EMS responded reports of a man with a gun and a shooting on Ostend Avenue. First responders found the victim, Thaddeus Nutt of Coventry Township, with multiple gunshot wounds who had crashed his vehicle. The Coventry Fire Department transported Nutt to Cleveland Clinic Akron General where he was pronounced dead at 9:38 p.m.

The Sheriff's Office said the alleged shooter was also at the scene.

Sheriff's Office detectives determined there had been an argument between Nutt and another male that led to the shooting. After that, Nutt was shot crashed his car.

The two agencies are investigating the homicide.
