26-year-old dead after crashing into canal in Dos Palos, CHP says
DOS PALOS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man is dead after crashing into a canal in Dos Palos early Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
Around 2:40 a.m. CHP says they received a call about an accident on Russell Avenue a couple of miles south of Dos Palos. Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and determined it was a solo vehicle crash.
CHP says a witness saw the vehicle drive into the canal and did not see anyone exit the vehicle.
Water and rescue arrived at the scene sometime later, and removed a 26-year-old man from Dos Palos, who was the only person in the vehicle, CHP said.
According to CHP, the vehicle was traveling southbound on Russell Avenue.
The investigation is ongoing. The identity of the man who died has not been officially released.
