25-year-old motorcyclist has died in hospital after crash in Biloxi, coroner says

A Mississippi Coast man whose motorcycle collided with an SUV on Thursday afternoon in Biloxi died at a hospital that evening, Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer said.

Jeffrey Taylor Jr., 25, of Biloxi died just before 5 p.m. at a local hospital, Switzer said.

The cause of death was blunt force trauma, Switzer said.

Authorities responded after 3 p.m. Thursday to Pass Road and Big Lake Road for a crash involving the motorcycle and a Toyota SUV, Biloxi Police said in a news release.

One person had “significant injuries,” the release said. Police said the second driver involved was unharmed.

Authorities rushed Taylor to the hospital, the release said. Police closed one westbound lane of Pass Road on Thursday.

It is unclear if police will charge the SUV driver. Biloxi Police said Thursday that Biloxi Motor Officers were investigating the crash and would provide an update “once additional details become available.”
