If you've just logged onto Twitter for the first time in awhile, you may be confused by the internet's current obsession with a giraffe named April and her partner Oliver. April, who resides in the upstate New York Animal Adventure Park zoo, is pregnant – very pregnant. In what surely seemed like an innocent and fun idea at the time, Animal Adventure Park decided to live stream the progression of April's labor through the delivery of her calf. Little did anyone know, April wasn't remotely near giving birth.

In what's certainly every pregnant human woman's (...and giraffe's) nightmare, April the Giraffe has been expected to give birth "any minute now" for nearly 3 weeks. #GiraffeWatch commenced its round-the-clock broadcast at the beginning of time on February 22nd and has captured the attention of millions worldwide. April's fans are seriously invested in seeing this birth through and meeting her baby-giraffe-to-be. One expectant mother even filmed a hilarious Facebook Live parody wearing a giraffe mask, went viral, and gave birth to her own child – all before April the Giraffe had her own calf.
