25 former Bradenton Marauders players are on MLB Opening Day rosters. Here’s the list

The 2024 Major League Baseball season gets going Thursday, a week after the Seoul Series saw the Dodgers and Padres split two games last week in South Korea.

And there are plenty of players dotting Opening Day rosters who once played in Manatee County as members of the Bradenton Marauders, the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Single-A affiliate.

In total, 25 former Marauders made 2024 Opening Day rosters and that includes eight players on the Pirates’ roster for Thursday’s opener at the Miami Marlins.

Pirates right-hander Mitch Keller and Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow are the Opening Day starting pitchers for their clubs.

Seventeen of the former Marauders on Opening Day rosters are attached to 12 Major League teams.

There are 13 games scheduled for Thursday, with the Brewers-Mets and Braves-Phillies having their slated games postponed.
