The eastbound on-ramp from eastbound I-70 onto C-470 was closed late Saturday after a semi-truck was blown over in the wind, according to Colorado State Patrol.

CSP said the ramp will be closed for several hours while crews recover the semi and a hazmat team addresses the diesel fuel spill. As of 9 a.m., no additional information was available.

“As Coloradans, we expect that there’s treacherous traffic conditions throughout the year. We just moved from the treacherous winter conditions right into the treacherous spring conditions, we all know we have to deal with it and take it as it comes,” Rice said.

Drivers can use CoTrip, CDOT’s online road condition tool, to check where roads are closed and where conditions may be dangerous.
