Have a 2025 Disney World trip? Watch out for these new prices

Disney World in Orlando, Florida, listed its 2025 ticket prices for sale — and its prices are soaring with up to $10 in upcharges.

For example, the cheapest possible ticket — a one-day Animal Kingdom pass on select dates — will rise from $109 this year to $119 starting next year before tax, reported USA Today. The most expensive ticket for next year, in comparison, will be $189 through Oct. 2025 — however, end-of-year holiday prices have not been listed yet.

According to The Washington Post, this is the first time the Orlando theme park and resort raised its ticket prices since late-2018. Additionally, it’s the first time Disney World has added on its park-specific charges since Dec. 2022.

Other instances of rising ticket prices

Per ABC Action News — a Tampa Bay affiliate — a Saturday, late-April visit to the Animal Kingdom, when demand is high, rises from $164 this year to $169 the next. And if you’re visiting the Magic Kingdom during the same time, the price increases from $184 to $189.

The price changes also affect Park Hopper options, as add-ons for these passes also go up by around $5 to $10 next year, said CBS.

How can I get discounts?

The Washington Post advises consumers to get the cheapest tickets by visiting the park late-August or early-September.

If you want to get discounts for specific conditions, USA Today says you can if you:

  • Use multi-day passes and/or third-party vacation packages.

  • Are a Florida resident.

  • Are a current/retired military member.

  • Use Disney gift cards purchased at a discounted rate.

Similarly, another recent USA Today article claimed that Disney is offering free water park passes to guests staying next year at Disney-operated resorts. The passes are reportedly only free on check-in days.

Challenges and competition with Disney’s raising prices

Theme parks in general have been raising their prices — and it has come with its own downsides.

Disneyland also increased prices for its one-day, multi-day and annual passes last year, per CNN.

The Washington Post claimed that Disney fans have complained about the new prices among recent news of the parks implementing “paid line-cutting services” replacing current free versions. And specific to Disney World, guests traveling to their hotels from Orlando airport no longer have free bus transportation.

Universal’s Orlando theme park also raised prices similar to its Disney competitors last year, increasing prices on its one-day, one-park passes by $10, reported USA Today.

Have Disney’s ticket prices increased?

According to the Orange County Register, Disneyland, in particular, didn’t break the $100 mark for tickets until 2016, when the park introduced a three-tier pricing system based on crowd size approximations.

Disney World’s ticket prices were kept similar to its California counterpart, and these prices were kept close for a few years. However, with emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, both parks increased their prices the following year — and every year so far, per the Register.
