2024 West Virginia Academic Showdown to be hosted by Concord University
ATHENS, WV (WVNS) — The 2024 West Virginia Academic Showdown will be hosted by Concord University.
The competition will be at Concord University from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Concord is looking forward to welcoming some of the most accomplished students in West Virginia in the subject areas of math, history, sports, fine arts and more this weekend. We are proud to be one of the higher education institutions hosting this year’s Academic Showdown in partnership with the West Virginia Department of Education, the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, West Virginia Public Broadcasting, and the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History. We are appreciative of the support we have received to host this challenging and fun event that will test West Virginia students’ knowledge.

Concord University enters MOU agreement with Level-Up Program for high school students
The West Virginia Academic Showdown was created in 2022 as a way for high school students in the state to participate in regional matchups in a head-to-head competition. The competition allows the students to demonstrate their academic abilities that include determination and hard work.
The event has grown since its creation, and more teams, including more local teams, will be seen in 2024 than previous years.
