New for 2018: Volkswagen

This is a big year for Volkswagen. The automaker introduces two highly competitive SUVs in the most popular segments, and rolls out a confidence-inspiring 6-year/72,000-mile, fully transferrable bumper-to-bumper warranty plan for all models except the e-Golf electric car. The aged CC and Touareg models are discontinued.

2018 Volkswagen Atlas

  • New three-row SUV priced like a midsize vehicle but sized like a full-size vehicle

  • Turbocharged 4-cylinder or normally aspirated V6 engine

  • 8-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel or all-wheel drive

  • S, Launch Edition, SE, SEL, and SEL Premium trim levels

  • Hauls up to 96.8 cubic-feet of cargo

  • Tows up to 5,000 pounds of trailer


2018 Volkswagen Beetle

  • Rumors are flying that the Beetle is on the automotive endangered species list

  • New standard engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder making 174 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque

  • Previous turbocharged 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter engines are discontinued

  • Classic, SEL, and R-Line trim levels are discontinued

  • Coast special edition model debuts, including Deep Sea Teal paint and dashboard trim resembling a classic surfboard

  • New Style & Comfort, Lighting, and Premium option packages


2018 Volkswagen Golf

  • VW freshens the Golf lineup for 2018

  • Minor styling and interior updates

  • Added standard equipment for all models

  • New touchscreen infotainment systems with larger displays

  • Greater access to driver assistance and collision avoidance at lower price points

  • Forward collision warning system adds pedestrian detection capability

  • Golf GTI is more powerful than before, includes automatic engine stop/start with Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) transmission

  • Golf R adds standard Volkswagen Digital Cockpit technology, available new 7-speed DSG transmission


2018 Volkswagen Jetta

  • Minor exterior styling and wheel design updates

  • New Wolfsburg Edition and SE Sport trim levels


2018 Volkswagen Passat

  • Standard engine is a new turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder generating 170 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque

  • Available V6 engine continues, now offered in a new GT trim level in addition to SEL Premium trim

  • Passat GT arrives mid-year, accompanied by a sport suspension, reduced ride height, 19-inch aluminum wheels, custom-tuned exhaust, blacked-out exterior trim, red brake calipers, and carbon fiber-style interior trim

  • New Driver’s Assistance Package makes key driver assistance and collision avoidance systems available on base S trim level, and for an exceptionally reasonable price. They are standard on all other versions of the Passat


2018 Volkswagen Tiguan

  • Redesigned for 2018, featuring more interior space than most compact crossover SUV competitors

  • Turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine making 184 horsepower and 221 lb.-ft. of torque

  • 8-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel or all-wheel drive

  • S, SE, SEL, and SEL Premium trim levels

  • Holds up to 65.7 cubic-feet of cargo
