2016 Vehicle Dependability Study: Most Dependable Trucks

The J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability StudySM (VDS) is published each year, summarizing the findings of a survey of original owners of 3-year-old vehicles. Owners tell J.D. Power what has gone right and what has gone wrong with their vehicles, reporting any design- and defect-related problems they experienced during the third year of ownership.

From this information, J.D. Power calculates Power Circle Ratings. These ratings give consumers an easily understood visual representation of a model’s performance relative to its competitors. Consumers can reference these ratings when researching a vehicle purchase.

This buyer’s guide highlights the top-rated 2013 light- and heavy-duty pickup trucks that receive a Power Circle Rating of 4 or 5 out of a possible 5 for vehicle dependability after 3 years of ownership.
