2016 American Photographic Artists Awards winners

The American Photographic Artists (APA) announced the winners of the 2016 APA Awards on Sept. 5, 2016. APA New York member Brad Trent won the Best of Show Award in the prestigious annual photo competition.

The APA Awards are open to photographers around the world ? APA members and nonmembers alike. This year’s show boasted winners from all over the U.S. as well as the U.K., France, and the Philippines. There are 34 winning images, which were chosen based upon personal creative expression and technical excellence.

Winning photographers are Rob Gregory, Jimmy Chin and Sue Barr in the action/sports/adventure category; Tim Griffith, Jeremiah Gilbert and James Ewing in architecture/interiors; Vincent Dixon, Erik Almas and Nate Dorn in beauty/lifestyle; HollenderX2, Maxine Helfman and Scott Council in celebrity; Matt Sartain, Patrick Heagney and Ethan Pines in conceptual/altered; Jamey Stillings, Valerie Leonard and Allan Borebor in documentary/editorial; Kristofer Dan-Bergman, Kushal Kapoor and Todd Baxter in fine art/personal; Isabella Bejarano, Todd Antony and Chris Edwards in portrait; Maren Caruso, Stephen Hamilton and Jeff Zaruba in still life/food; Seth Joel, Chad Holder and Rob Brodman in travel/landscape; and Danielle Tsi, Ignacio Umana and Hannah Benet in student/emerging categories.
