Let's not beat around the bush ladies -- aging has its perks, but our looks often isn't one of them. Sure, as you grow older you become a more mature, well-rounded individual with a broader perspective of life (or so we hope). In case you haven't heard, there are plenty of ways things right in the comfort of your very kitchen that can help reverse signs of aging. From certain nuts, to leafy greens -- your diet is actually a great tool to help you look your best no matter your age.

Lycopene in tomatoes (an antioxidant that can combat damage healthy cells) gets the credit for their ability to help protect against some cancers.

This popular green is a major source of vitamin K, helping ward off heart disease and osteoporosis.

The purple skin gets its anti-aging power from nasunin (a nutrient that helps fight the spread of cancerous cells).

This immunity-boosting veggie contains 60 percent more vitamin C than its green counterpart. A study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that people with diets high in vitamin C were less prone to wrinkles.

Rutin, a potentially lifesaving antioxidant found in high levels in this fruit, may lower the risk of heart attack or stroke.
