The film was a hit and garnered good acclaim.

TURNING 30:

Leading lady Gul Panag was highly praised for her brilliant performance as a 30-year old lady, going through the societal pressures that add to the dilemma of a single woman.

SHABRI:

Eesha Koppikar could not have asked for a better role than this. Eesha effortlessly performed the role of a traumatized simple woman from a Mumbai slum, who ends up threatening the biggest corridors of power in the matka gambling underworld of the city. The film had all the potential to click at BO but due to poor promotion it missed the bus. This is counted as Eesha's finest performance

7 KHOON MAAF:

Despite of the presence of 7 male leads in the film (actors like Naseeruddin Shah, John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Irrfan Khan, Annu Kapoor) Vishal Bhardwaj's 7 KHOON MAAF was completely a Priyanka Chopra show. The film, despite huge promotions, may not have done well however Priyanka was applauded for her sterling performance.

THAT GIRL IN YELLOW BOOTS:

Kalki Koechlin, who's always done meaningful cinema, was a part of an unconventional film THAT GIRL IN YELLOW BOOTS. Kalki delivered a nuanced performance as the tumultuous Ruth, who is looking for her her long-lost father, who had abandoned her many years ago. The film won some critical acclaim.

THE DIRTY PICTURE:

With Milan Luthria's THE DIRTY PICTURE Vidya Balan broke all the norms and proved that actresses have enough scope in Bollywood, if provided. Though the rigorous and extensive promotion and Vidya's skimpy costumes and dirty adayein did half the job for the film, it was Vidya Balan's brave portrayal as south siren which did the magic for the film and also earned her enough accolades.
