20-Year-Old Florida Man Hopes To "Do Some Good For Humanity" With $451 Million Lottery Jackpot

A 20-year-old Floridian can snap up a few oceanfront retirement homes for his golden years—heck, he could probably buy an entire resort community—thanks to winning the country's 10th-largest jackpot in a January 5th lottery drawing.

Shane Missler, who lives in the Tampa suburb of Port Richey, came forward on Friday, January 12th to claim his $451-million prize for the Mega Millions jackpot. Like many lottery winners, Missler opted to receive a lump sum payment, which amounts to a total of $281,874,999. In addition to his personal winnings, the 7-Eleven in Port Richey that Missler purchased his ticket from will enjoy a $100,000 bonus. The numbers to win the drawing were 28-30-39-59-70 with a Mega Ball of 10 (mental note to open that shoebox with Papaw's old license plate and jot down the digits...).

So what would you do if you won the lottery? For Missler the answer is obvious. "I'm only 20, but I hope to use it to pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity," he said in an official statement. "If there is one thing I have learned thus far in my short time on this earth it is that those who maintain a positive mindset and stay true to themselves get rewarded," Missler continued. "I look forward to the future." See you in Margaritaville, Shane!
