2 women arrested on prostitution charges at local massage parlor

May 21—ANDERSON — Two women have been arrested by Anderson police on misdemeanor charges of prostitution.

Zhang Liangzhen, 56, Crawfordsville, and Hongmei Guang, 45, Anderson, were arrested Monday at the Daffodil Massage business in the 1900 block of East 53rd Street. If convicted, a misdemeanor charge carries a maximum one-year sentence and up to a $1,000 fine.

The Investigations Division of the Anderson Police Department executed a search warrant and preliminary details include that women operating the massage parlor would agree to perform lewd acts for money while performing their duties as masseuses.

According to the probable cause affidavit, police stopped three patrons leaving the business and all three indicated a female employee was willing to perform a sex act for an extra charge.

Both women denied any sexual favors during the massages.

Liangzhen is listed as the owner of the business with the Indiana Secretary of State's office as of March 1.

She was convicted in 2019 in Ohio on a charge of sexual activity for hire and in 2023 in Iowa for violation of a "massage therapy" license.

Guang traveled from China to Mexico and crossed the border, traveling to Chicago and eventually to Anderson.

The investigation is ongoing.
