2 plead not guilty to murder in V Street shooting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two men pleaded not guilty to murder Tuesday in connection to a shooting last week on V Street.

Rodney Gipson, 35, and Marlon Burch, 31, were ordered held without bail and are due back in court May 10. They’re also charged with gang and gun offenses.

Police were called to V Street near 8th Street in central Bakersfield on the evening of April 25. A man found with multiple gunshot wounds was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Dontrell Smith.
