2 occupants escape, house left badly scorched after fire in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two Mobile residents are left with a badly scorched home after a Wednesday night fire.

According to a Facebook post, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units responded to the 1800 block of Idell Street at around 4:08 p.m. on Wednesday.

HOUSE FIRE LOCATION:

When units arrived, they saw heavy, dark smoke coming from a single-story, wood-framed residence. Two occupants were outside the home, according to the post. The fire reportedly spread in the house and into the attic before it was extinguished.

Officials with Mobile Fire-Rescue say the fire was an accidental cooking fire. No one was injured in the incident, according to the post.
