2 musicians crushed in Bolivia parade
LA PAZ, Bolivia (AP) — Bolivian police say two musicians were killed and more than 30 people hurt when a metal footbridge collapsed onto a group of musicians in the opening parade of Carnival in the city of Oruro.
Dozens of people were on the bridge when it fell onto a group of dancers and musicians in the highlands regional capital, turning the parade into a funereal march.
The four-day annual event is Bolivia's most celebrated festival, drawing at least 20,000 musicians and dancers and tens of thousands more tourists.
Local news media said the death toll could mount.
