2 minors accused of pushing victim, carjacking arrested

(KRON) – Two minors were arrested after allegedly carjacking a vehicle, according to the Fremont Police Department.

Fremont police officers were alerted of a carjacking that occurred in an apartment community on Stevenson Boulevard at approximately 4:45 p.m. on April 2.

Responding officers were made aware that the suspect stole the vehicle after pushing the victim down. According to police, the victim was not injured. The suspects reportedly fled the scene before officers’ arrival.

Police said there was an unoccupied vehicle with the engine running near where the carjacked vehicle had been parked. The car was reported stolen, according to police. Officers believed the suspects drove the stolen vehicle to find a new car to steal.

The suspects were last seen in the area of Fremont Boulevard and Enea Court prior to leaving Fremont. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office helicopter located the stolen car traveling into Oakland. The air unit noticed police officials that two suspects running from the carjacked vehicle.

Police said the suspects were determined to be minors. The suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Fremont Police Department.

The minors were arrested for carjacking and fleeing pursuing peace officers. The suspects were taken to Juvenile Hall.
