2 men accused of committing robberies with taser arrested

(KRON) – The Concord Police Department arrested two men who allegedly committed multiple vehicle robberies with a taser.

Responding to reports last week of a reckless driver who was intentionally hitting garbage cans in a residential neighborhood, Concord police officers conducted an area check. Officers said they were unable to find the vehicle. However, a resident driving on Arnold Industrial Way reported that she was intentionally rammed by a driver who was following her. According to police, she was not seriously injured and was able to describe the vehicle.

Police said the description of the vehicle matched the vehicle that was accused of hitting garbage cans. According to the police investigation, the vehicle was reported stolen and was found in the North Concord BART parking lot.

Concord PD later responded to a local hospital due to a resident reporting their car stolen.

Officers said they found two abandoned stolen vehicles in the parking lot when contacting the victim.

According to police, officers received multiple reports of a reckless driver in downtown Concord late that day. A Concord PD sergeant located the stolen vehicle. Police said a brief pursuit ensued, however, the sergeant suspended the pursuit due to safety concerns. According to the police investigation, the stolen vehicle matched the description of a vehicle that was occupied by two men who were approaching residents and committing street robberies with a taser.

Police said hours later the car recklessly driving downtown re-entered Concord. Patrol officers, detectives, and Contra Costa sheriff’s air support collaborated for the arrest in Walnut Creek.

Police determined that the suspects were the same people who rammed into a woman’s car.

This is an ongoing investigation. Police said this case will be referred to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
