2 men, 2 juveniles charged for shooting inside West Oakland mini market

(KRON) — Two men were charged with attempted murder for a shooting that happened at a West Oakland mini market on Feb. 19, Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price announced Friday.

The shooting happened at Alawdi’s Mini Mart, located at 3841 West St. Price’s office said there were five victims, but the Oakland Police Department said officers did not locate anybody with a gunshot wound.

Investigations by the Oakland Police Department and Fremont Police Department identified Keeric Lamont Johnson, 23, Joshua Smiley, 19, and two minors as the suspects. They have all been charged.

Johnson and Smiley were charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of shooting into an inhabited dwelling. Johnson was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and Smiley was charged with carrying a concealed firearm.

Police recovered 45 bullet casings and two guns during their investigation. OPD said multiple people shot at each other.

If convicted of all charges, Johnson and Smiley could face 37 years and eight months in prison.
