READING TWP. — The Michigan State Police Jackson Post is investigating a serious crash involving two juveniles on a go-cart.

Troopers were dispatched at about 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, to Blair Road near Horn Road for a crash between a go-cart and pickup.

State police Jackson Post commander Lt. Kevin Rod said Thursday morning that the two juveniles operating a go-cart pulled out in front of a pickup traveling on Blair Road.

"When the vehicles collided, the go-cart rolled several times," Rod said. "Both juveniles were critically injured with numerous broken bones and an open head injury."

Rod added that one of the juveniles was flown by medical helicopter to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and the second was transported by ambulance to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.

Rod did not release the identities of the juveniles or the driver of the pickup Thursday morning.
