2 juveniles charged with ill treatment of an animal after ‘disturbing’ social media video

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — Two juveniles were arrested and charged with ill treatment of an animal after officers with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources were alerted through a community tip about a ‘disturbing’ social media video depicting animal cruelty.

SCDNR officers initiated an investigation on the video that surfaced over the weekend.

The investigation led to the arrest of two people aged 15 and 17 who were identified as the perpetrators.

Both juveniles were charged with felony ill treatment of an animal and the case was referred to the Florence County Solicitors Office and the Department of Juvenile Justice, according to SCDNR.
