2 injured in Rochester crash with semi Monday morning

Mar. 4—ROCHESTER — Two people were injured in a semi and vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 52 on Monday, March 4, 2024.

A 2014 Honda Civic and a 2019 Kenworth Tractor semi were traveling south on Highway 52 when the vehicles collided around 8:45 a.m. Monday, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report.

The driver of the Honda, Vicente Raul Santiago, 61, of Minneapolis had non-life threatening injuries.

A passenger, Lidia Juana Martinez-Sanchez, 55, also had non-life threatening injuries. Both Santiago and Martinez-Sanchez were transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys. A second passenger, Raul Uriel Santiago Martinez, 36, was not injured in the crash.

The driver of the semi, Aaron Permaul, 22, of Jordan, Minnesota was uninjured.

The Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service also responded to the crash.
