It started with a double shooting in the South Highland area at the Quick and Easy food shop where one person was pronounced dead on the scene. Another was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

Memphis Police say they responded to a third shooting in a shopping center on North Shelby Drive. At this point, Memphis police have linked only one critically wounded person to that shooting.

“It’s traumatic, you know. You never know where that bullet was going to fly,” a witness said. “It’s unsafe for you to be out and I feel that the city needs to do more.”
